FAQ
Questions, answered clearly.
The practical details of practising with Hebbian—from your first station to how feedback, recordings and credits work.
Getting started
What can I practise with Hebbian?
Hebbian is built for UK postgraduate medical interview preparation, beginning with Core Surgical Training. You can work through realistic, timed stations and examiner-style follow-up questions, then reflect on structured feedback before your next attempt.
How long does a practice session take?
That depends on the format you choose. A single station can fit into a short break, while a full interview circuit is designed for a longer, more focused rehearsal. Each station shows what to expect before you begin.
What do I need to practise?
Use a current browser on a laptop or desktop, a working microphone and somewhere you are comfortable speaking aloud. Practising with spoken answers is the current path because it best reflects the interview task.
Practice & feedback
How does the feedback work?
Your spoken answer is transcribed and reviewed against the station’s versioned rubric. Feedback explains what you covered, where your reasoning or structure could be stronger, and what to focus on next. It is designed to support practice—not to predict a recruitment outcome.
Is there one “correct” answer?
No. Interview stations test judgement, prioritisation, communication and structure. Hebbian uses the rubric to make feedback specific and accountable, without suggesting there is a single script to memorise.
Can I use my own CV or portfolio experience?
You may choose to add information from your CV or portfolio where the product offers this. Nothing extracted from an upload should influence feedback until you have reviewed and accepted it.
Privacy & your data
What happens to my recording?
By default, raw audio is deleted after transcription. Your transcript and feedback are kept so you can review the attempt history. This gives you a useful record of practice without retaining the original recording by default.
What should I avoid including in an answer or upload?
Do not share patient-identifiable information, confidential recruitment material or live interview questions. Hebbian is for preparation, and its support channels are not a place for urgent clinical, employment or legal advice.
Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes. Contact us with the email address associated with your account and we will help with a privacy or deletion request.
Plans & credits
Do plans renew automatically?
No. Hebbian plans are single payments for a fixed access window. You will not be charged again unless you choose to buy a new plan or add Practice Credits while your access is active.
What are Practice Credits used for?
Practice Credits cover the AI-intensive parts of preparation, such as answer reviews, mock stations with feedback and full interview circuits. The cost is shown before you start so you can choose how to use them.
Can I prepare for more than one specialty?
Plans include one specialty track. When additional tracks are available, you can add them to an active plan rather than starting over. Practice Credits are shared across the tracks you unlock.
Using Hebbian responsibly
Is Hebbian official recruitment guidance?
No. Hebbian is an independent interview-preparation tool. Its stations and feedback are structured practice resources, not official recruitment guidance and not a statement about how an application or interview will be judged.
Can I use Hebbian during a live interview?
No. Hebbian must not be used during a live recruitment interview or assessment. It is for rehearsal beforehand, so you can practise independently and arrive better prepared.
Does Hebbian provide clinical advice?
No. The product supports interview preparation only. It does not provide clinical decision support, patient-specific advice or urgent guidance.
